Katherine McHugh founded AWAKEN Wellness Resources to bring about positive and lasting change at the individual and organizational level through awareness practices and developmental training.
She brings over 3 decades of personal practice to the training and over 16 years of experience as a personal development consultant and mindfulness educator in corporate, academic and community settings.
With a Master’s Degree in Comparative Contemplative Practices, Katherine trained at the renowned Center for Mindfulness in Medicine, Health Care and Society at the University of Massachusetts Medical School.
Working with a wide scope of organizations including: Aetna, Alnylam Pharmaceuticals, Ernst and Young, Hubspot, Hasbro, Hubbard Hall, ITG, Analog Devices, Kronos, Dunkin’ Brands, Progress Software, and Shire Pharmaceuticals, Katherine brings a tailored approach to each client and every new project. She has successfully coached CEOs, business leaders and students to learn to live with more intention and focus, to promote healing, to wholly thrive.
Katherine has led seminars and retreats at Harvard University, Harvard Business School, Wellesley College, Bentley University and Boston College. A regular contributor to the health and wellness platform MeQuilibrium, Katherine is the creator and voice of their app, The Mindfulness Meditation Series. Collaborating with Hasbro, she produced videos for children and teens as part of the Be Fearless Be Kind Initiative whose mission it is to nurture empathy, calm and compassion in youth globally. In addition, she was a consultant for Emindful, providing live on-line classes in mindfulness across the United States and Canada.
AWAKEN’s newest endeavor in 2018 will be leading mindfulness training to first responders. Conferences for police officers in Florida and nurses’ associations in New England. Katherine serves on the board of the New England Women’s Leadership Initiative and the Epiphany School in Boston.
